The School of Analytics, Finance, and Economics invites with those with potential for excellence in research and teaching Applied Economonics to submit an application for consideration as an Assistant Professor. We are particularly looking for those who specialize in one or more applied areas such as Development, International, Monetary, Environmental, Financial, Health, or Labor Economics.This position is a continuing, tenure track, 9-month appointment to start August 16, 2021.

If selected, you will participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching, engage in scholarly research, and provide School/University service appropriate your academic rank.

PhD in Economics with a specialization in an area of Applied Economics. ABD applicants will be considered if all requirements for the Ph.D. degree will be completed by August 15, 2021. If all requirements for the Ph.D. are not completed by August 15, 2021, a term, non-tenure track appointment may be offered in accordance with University policy (https://policies.siu.edu/personnel-policies/chapter2/ch2-faps/conting.php).

Applicants must show strong potential to engage in research that leads to publications in high quality journals and effective teaching.  Teaching includes the PhD microeconomic sequence as well as courses at the lower levels. 

 

 

Preference will be given to candidates who can contribute to the Business Analytics program.  Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of faculty, staff, and students, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in these areas in their cover letter.
