Distance Education Regional Coordinator (Central), 12-month term appointment with reappointment contingent on job performance in SIU Extended Campus at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. This position is contingent on available funding.

The Distance Education Regional Coordinator (Central) is responsible for the site offices to be reflective of the Carbondale campus student services office and to promote programs and recruit qualified students into the programs. Representative for SIU Extended Campus (SEC) to educational services office within all military branches or partner offices within the region. Accountability for regional site enrollments and retention. Compile and submit enrollment goals and productivity data outlining recruitment and retention activities. Work with Marketing and Program Development Coordinator to develop marketing and promotional plan for assigned region. Represents department in academic advisor meetings and keeps off-campus advisors updated on upcoming advisement trends. Travel to various sites, recruitment/retention events, commencement ceremonies, trainings, and partnership meetings. Maintaining current and staying abroad of university policies and appropriately communicating and applying them in a dynamic and changing environment.

Master's degree in adult education, higher education, marketing or related field. Two years of experience within the delivery or program development of higher education, military education degree programs or military experience. Student service or recruitment and retention focused experience is required. Knowledge of assessment and evaluation of administrative functions of online and off campus degree programs is required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities. Individual must have great attention to detail, be very organized, ability to follow-through on matters, ability to work without constant supervision, and be able to understand regulations, policies and procedures which may affect SIU Carbondale’s operations.
