The Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Services (SHS) at SIU Carbondale is seeking applications for the Counseling Psychologist position. This is a 12-month full-time appointment. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, professional liability coverage, and salary commensurate with experience.

CAPS is integrated within SHS, a state-of-the-art ambulatory health care facility. Interdisciplinary care is a central value of CAPS and we stand committed to providing affirming care to students of all backgrounds and identities. We emphasize a commitment to LGBTQ Health as demonstrated by our recognized status as an LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Leader. CAPS maintain a large, APA-accredited internship and serves as a practicum training site for SIU Carbondale students from a variety of graduate programs. All staff are a part of our training team and provide supervision to interns and practicum students. Simply put, we are passionate about training. CAPS provide comprehensive mental health services. Staff provides individual, group, couples, and crisis counseling. Specialized treatment services are also available via our Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eating Disorder Outpatient Program (EDOP), Alcohol and other Drug (AOD), and Interdisciplinary Health Care (IHC) services. Staff provide outreach through our community intervention program. Social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion remain central to all of CAPS work and are core values of the organization. 1. By date of hire, an earned doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program is preferred (ABD acceptable)
2. By date of hire, successful completion of APA or CPA accredited pre-doctoral internship in professional psychology.
3. Eligibility for registration as licensed psychologist in State of Illinois.

Licensed as a psychologist in the State of Illinois or licensed psychologist in another state and is eligible to become licensed in Illinois within six months of employment. University or community health experience.
