The Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Services (SHS) at SIU Carbondale is seeking applications for the Counseling Psychologist position. This is a 12-month, full-time appointment. Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, professional liability coverage, and salary commensurate with experience.

CAPS maintains an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship and provides comprehensive mental health services to diverse students of a large state university. Staff provides individual, group, couples, and crisis counseling; community intervention and social justice activities; and supervises practicum students and interns.

  • Earned doctorate in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from APA or CPA accredited program (ABD acceptable).
  • Successful completion of APA or CPA accredited doctoral internship in professional psychology by start date of employment.
  • Eligibility for registration as a licensed psychologist in the State of Illinois within 12 months of start date of employment.

Licensed as a psychologist in State of Illinois or licensed psychologist in another state and is eligible to become licensed in Illinois within six months of employment. University or community health experience.
